“Infatuation and manipulation enter the lives of an adolescent and her father because of the arrival of a reckless femme fatale.

“A piercing modern fable entwining the lives of an awkward adolescent girl, a malevolent femme fatale, a wheelchair-ridden critic and a once successful novelist, CRUSH inhabits an unspoilt landscape - Eden before the fall. That is, until a car crash blazes a destructive trail through the lives of the three women and one man.

“CRUSH is the debut feature from Alison Maclean, who would go on to direct episodes of hit TV shows Sex and the City, Gossip Girl and The Tudors.

“Maclean's feature was the third New Zealand film to be part of the Official Selection at Cannes, following Vincent Ward's Virgil and The Navigator.

“Festival/Awards: Down-under Film Festival-Germany 2000; Karlovy Vary Film Festival-Czech Republic 2000.” - New Zealand Film Commission; www.nzfilm.co.nz/film/crush; 27/01/2014.
