Ian Cross comments on issues in the media. This week he talks about the Listener which has been criticised for being a magazine for the intellectual left. Cross says the Listener is a smorgasbord for the high, middle and low brows. He asks why the Listener has lost 100,000 readers, and says it is because the TV Guide has taken up some subscribers. he also says that newspapers and magazines have now taken up arts topics and investigative journalism subjects.
