Stories:
“We cross live to Fiji where a media conference is about to start in which Commodore Frank Bainimarama will declare Fiji's situation as he says it and decrees it. We get the latest from 3 News reporter Jeff Hampton in Suva.
Plus... Casino Royale is arguably the most talked about Bond film ever made and its star Daniel Craig has certainly been the most controversial. The man responsible for this brave new Bond, for casting Daniel Craig and for directing the film is a New Zealander, a Kiwi film maker who has managed to keep a very low profile, despite ten years of banking big Hollywood cheques at the box office. Martin Campbell came down for the New Zealand premiere of Casino Royale and took some time out to talk to Kate Rodger about his road from Hastings to Hollywood.
And New Zealander Scott Dixon, he earns his living driving just millimetres from concrete walls at over 350kph. But away from the noise and hype of the Indy Racing League, New Zealand's top motor racer is rather shy, avoiding as much attention as possible. But with his new book out he is in Auckland to happily speak with sports reporter Shaun Summerfield.
Plus... The SPCA deals with thousands of harmed, neglected or unwanted animals every year but one smallish, neglected dog has really touched people's hearts. He is a cross breed they have nicknamed Jobe and he was starved almost to death and covered in weeping sores when he was found locked in the shed of a vacated state house. The SPCA says it has been overwhelmed by offers of help and donations for Jobe. They have given toys, blankets and $4,500 in donations and even a special piece of All Black memorabilia – it is a 2006 All Blacks jersey signed by all 40 All Blacks that went up for auction on Trade Me this afternoon and is one of only 200 in existence."
