A programme produced for the 40th anniversary of New Zealand's worst rail disaster which occurred at Tangiwai on December 24, 1953.
Includes radio actuality and interviews after the fact. Voices heard in the programme are those of survivors, rescuers, Prime Minister Sidney Holland, Rear Admiral Ted Thorne, Mrs Delia Holman, H. M. Queen Elizabeth II, and a message marking the anniversary from H. R. H. the Duke of Edinburgh.
