the Royal New Zealand Air Force radio station in Singapore, after being
brought out from Bangkok and Palembang, Sumatra the day before.

[all names transcribed as heard. The broadcast was recorded from shortwave radio so there is some interference]

Messages from the following ex POWs: Capt Barry Fletcher, Nelson; Sgt Harry Soames, Wellington; Able Seaman Bob Oldlaw [?] Avondale; Able Seaman Jock Barnes [?] Parnell; Able Seaman Tim Hill /Hall, Epsom; civilian James Mills, Hokitika; Peter Edmonds, St Heliers.
Then come messages from prisoners who "were just brought out from Palembang yesterday": Signalman Graham Chellie [?] Lower Hutt; Signalman Ronald Aspen, Northcote; Sgt Neil Packard, Nelson; Signalman John Evans, Nelson; Lt J Burke, Herne Bay; Lt Bob Arkley, Wellington.
