Cadet N. Moffatt [possibly John Noel Florance Moffatt] continues to recount his experiences on his trip to the Greek front.

Just as the Germans were reported to be advancing towards the New Zealander's position, Cadet Moffatt, together with some other New Zealand troops, were recalled to base. He describes the journey back to Egypt as one of the most interesting he had ever made. The party missed the train at the first village because of a change to daylight saving. While they waited, they went into a wine shop and one of our soldiers offered to shout for every Greek in the shop. It cost him 1/- (one shilling) for twenty people. There was a stop at Athens for a few days, and Cadet Moffatt visited some of the historic places. The Greek soldier is tremendously loyal and they value the freedom of Greece more than anything else in the world.
