Te Hunga Whaitake, the Newsmakers is a weekly half-hour programme in English focusing on the newsmaker of the day in the Māori world.
This week Dale Husband speaks with Michael Ahie the first Maori to head a crown research institute. Dale speaks to Michael about his new position with the Plant and Crop research Institute. Dale also speaks with Dr Richard Manning, historian at Canterbury University about the call from academics at Victoria and Canterbury Universities for an enquiry into the lack of New Zealand and Maori history being taught in our educational institutions.
