The Battalion Officer in Charge continues talking about the force who moved to the North near Amindaion, with whom he stayed for the whole show over in Greece.
While the machine gunners took up new positions at [Proastine] the covering platoon took heavy toll on the enemy. The Australians at this stage had left and it was a small New Zealand force that made a stand to delay the enemy.
On Easter Sunday the troops became acquainted with enemy air attacks, on 13 days out of 17 the enemy machine gunned and bombed the soldiers.
The next move was back to Grevana where they arrived at 6am on Easter Monday. On Tuesday 15 April they withdrew again, and travelled for 40 hours in trucks over roads that we in New Zealand would think twice about using.
