World at 5, is normally hosted by veteran broadcaster Paul Henry presenting a mix of current affairs, news as it happens, audience feedback and his own unique brand of entertaining talk. Not shy of controversy, Paul Henry interviews the newsmakers of the day.

Today on World at 5:
Geoff Bryan presents a news bulletin at the top of the hour, this is followed by a sport news bulletin and weather report. Before the show begins, the latest news headlines are repeated.

Guests today include:

An aerial land and marine search is continuing in the Bay of Plenty for 56 year old single-yachtsman Richard Russbach whose unmanned yacht was reported circling Mayor Island. Tracy Brickles (Maritime NZ Rescue Mission Coordinator) talks about what happens next.

An update on news headlines with Geoff Bryan and a traffic report with Kelly Ashdown.

Community leader, Derek Battersby (Chair Whau Local Board) has accused fast-food chain restaurants of targeting the poorer communities and locating their premises in these areas with high obesity statistics.

Geoff Bryan returns at 17:30 with the latest news, sport and weather report.

Andrew Patterson, Business Editor Radio Live analyses the latest business developments.

Mytchall Bransgrove (Photographer Timaru Herald) took a bite of a Moro bar and made turn in his vehicle when he noticed flashing police car lights in his rear-vision mirror, he was pulled up and charges laid for using a cellphone while driving. Mytchall indicated that his cellphone was still in his bag and that the snack bar was the only item in his hand at all times. Mitchell wrote an explanation to the NZ Police - the fine was latter dropped.

Paul then reads out some audience feedback.
