Mr [Frederick] Briggs, who is both the Mayor of Lyttelton, a Basketball Association representative and a member of the Rāpaki whānau, speaks welcoming the team from the North Island. The visitors reply in te reo Māori, followed by a haka. A waiata follows. After the hongi, the visitors performed several action songs.

Side 2. Part 2: Arrival of the Vickers Valiant bombers at Harewood yesterday. Commentary by an unidentified male broadcaster from the roof of the airport cafeteria as two jets fly past overhead.
