This current affairs programme is hosted by new radio broadcaster, Duncan Garner. This is the first broadcast for Duncan as the permanent presenter for this show.

PROGRAMME SCHEDULE:
The recording begins with a news bulletin normally presented by Geoff Bryan or Liz Parsons. A sports bulletin follows (usually presented by John McNeil or Jeff McTainsh) and then a traffic report and weather bulletin follows along with radio advertisement placement. Upon completion of this initial bulletin, the major news headlines are repeated again before the presenter introduces the programme's schedule for the day.

SEGMENT 1: NEWS STORY
Two construction workers are dead, after a killer tornado ripped through an Auckland suburb abut 12:15 with one other construction worker missing, feared dead. Rotorua has also suffered a small tornado approximately a half-hour ago. The Metservice has confirmed the weather system is heading towards the Gisborne area. Flights have been disrupted at both domestic and international airports, and roadways into the most severely affected areas have only just re-opened and police are warning motorists to expect delays. Auckland Mayor, Len Brown held a press conference in the strike zone at Whenuapai - Radio Live Reporter, Frances Cook attended the event and joins Duncan on the programme.
Radio Live Reporter, Lewis Hampton has been on the ground for the duration of the event, he joins Duncan to describe the devastation he has witnessed.

At approximately quarter past the hour, Geoff Bryan presents the latest major news headlines, which is followed by a number of radio advertisements and traffic report.

SEGMENT 2: NEWS STORY
Aaron [unidentified surname] a carpenter from West Auckland was right at ground zero just after the tornado struck. He joins the programme via telephone to talk to Duncan about his experience as he headed into the devastated area.

NEWS UPDATE
At the bottom of the hour (half past the hour) Geoff Bryan presents the major news stories of the hour, followed by a sport bulletin (normally with Jeff McTainsh or John McNeil), then more radio advertising. Newsreader (normally Geoff Bryan or Liz Parsons) then follows with a traffic report and weather bulletin for Auckland.

SEGMENT 3: NEWS STORY UPDATE
Two people have been confirmed dead, one person is still missing and feared dead - the three people were all construction workers who were caught in the fury of a tornado that ripped through an Auckland suburb devastating the area. Prime Minister joins the programme.

SEGMENT 4: NEWS STORY UPDATE
Hawkins Construction have released a media statement confirming 2 of their workers have been confirmed dead, and a number of injuries suffered by subcontractors at an Auckland construction site this afternoon. Another construction worker is missing and is feared dead, Nina [unidentified surname] from West Auckland joins the programme via telephone and explains her personal situation when the tornado struck.
Civil Defence Minister, Chris Tremain joins the programme.

NEWS UPDATE
At approximately quarter to the hour, the newsreader (David Burke-Kennedy) presents the latest major news headlines, which is followed by a number of radio advertisements and another traffic report.

Normally, a radio advertising segment follows (which includes a weather bulletin and traffic report).

Duncan wraps up the programme by summarising signs off for the evening, then a radio advertising break follows.
