The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation presents an episode of the 6th annual original songwriting contest, "Studio One". It also includes a contest to find the 1974 Commonwealth Games theme song.
[This programme was also televised by the NZBC.]

The show is compered by Jim McNaught and includes comments on the songs by judges Relda Familton, Merv Smith, Stewart McPherson and Nick Karavias.

2) Take My Life written and performed by Desna Sisarich.
3) Natural Man performed by Bunny Walters and written by Russ Brainsby
and Gordon Dryland.
4) What Do You Do written and performed by Lutha.
5) Boy From Dundee performed by Kamahl and written by Anderson/Wise.
6) Games Spirit performed by Nass Chase and written by Robert Papka and Kerry Dyer. This song was the Commonwealth Games theme song entry.

The last part of the show features the judges scoring each individual song.
