The New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation presents an episode of the 6th annual original songwriting contest, "Studio One". It also includes a contest to find the 1974 Commonwealth Games theme song.

The show is compered by Jim McNaught and includes comments on the songs by judges Relda Familton, Merv Smith, Stewart McPherson and Nick Karavias.
