The former associate health minister Neil Kirton has released confidential documents showing the extent of closures and cuts planned by CHEs around the [illegible]. The Minister During the process of negotiating the Ngai Tahu settlement, some conservation groups have expressed reservations about its implications for the environment, and public access. Figures released today show a drastic shortage of experienced staff at the Auckland CYPs office which deals with abused children. The figures have emerged after a Children's Commission report critical of the service, saying its failures contributed to the death of an Auckland child. Eight-month old Victoria Watson died of suffocation at her mother's Auckland home last year [illegible] under social welfare care.
