Waatea 603 AM (Radio station : Mangere, N.Z.), Broadcaster

Paakiwaha is a weekly two-hour current affairs programme broadcast on Monday mornings on Radio Waatea. Delivered in English, it covers current issues from a Māori perspective. It has been broadcasting since 2002. Paakiwaha is funded by New Zealand On Air and is provided to various Community/Access stations and other broadcasters via Irirangi.net - Te Whakaruruhau Reo Irirangi Māori o Aotearoa. In today’s programme:

1. Willie Jackson spoke with the Minister of Maori Affairs Dr Pita Sharples at the post budget breakfast in Auckland last week.

2. NZ First leader Winston Peters has been copping a lot of flak and he gives his view on the budget.

3. Labours Maori Affairs spokesperson Nanaia Mahuta says the budget is predictable and very Bill English; there’s no room for innovation.

4. National List MP Claudette Hauiti and what the budget delivers for Maori.

5. Green Party co leader Dr Russel Norman says the budget is designed to protect the status quo.

6. Mana leader Hone Harawira on the budget; he says it’s a desperate attempt to bring us back to where we should have been.

7. Political Reporter Corin Dann.

8. Ken Laban wraps up the weekends sporting events nationally and internationally.
