Doreen de Garis, writer, producer of plays and sometime broadcaster, describes the Hawkes Bay Spring Show in an extract from her story 'Calling Sarah Morton'.
[The year in which the story is set is not known, but it appears to be around 1960. Many of her stories were broadcast on radio in New Zealand, and she also had plays broadcast on the BBC. She died in 1962.]
