One year anniversary of the disappearance of MH370
BODY:
The head of the Australian agency leading the search explains why he's cautiously optimistic they'll find the aircraft debris on the sea floor. It's one year ago this Sunday since Malaysian airlines flight MH370 disappeared without a trace, carrying 239 passengers and crew. The Boeing 777 was on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing when it vanished, starting a massive search in the Indian Ocean, first for surface debris, then a far more in-depth search involving planes, radar and mapping of the seabed. In October, a painstaking deep sea search of a priority area of the seafloor began, and so far over 40% has been covered. Australia, China and Malaysia are now discussing whether to call off the search and a decision could be made within weeks. The head of the search is Martin Dolan, Chief Commissioner of the Australian Transportation Safety Board, who still feels cautious optimism.

Sonia Faleiro travelled to the isolated village in West Bengal and interviewed the victim as well as local villagers and the village council and found the media coverage of the story had been in many cases wrong, and the issues were far more complex than many realised. Andrea and Marzia Loggia of Sovrano Limoncello.
Italians Andrea and Marzia Loggia arrived in New Zealand in 2007. By 2009, from their Kerikeri property, they started producing the palate cleansing liqueur limoncello.
Both had family backgrounds in wine making or liqueurs. Andrea’s from Sicily and he says every southern Italian family has their limoncello recipe. He uses his father’s “but I needed to put my own touch, so I did”, and now he reckons he rivals the best Italian product.
The Loggia’s have a small lemon orchard producing fruit for the liqueur, but they also buy in fruit from other locals.
Andrea’s also getting into bees, with 12 hives so far, and plans for more. “And they’re all women, have you thought about that, they’re all women, I have to manage.” But on a serious front, he says the trees and the bees make a good circle, with limoncello at the end.
Andrea and Marzia’s two and a half year old daughter loves helping in the busy business and while Andrea makes the limoncello, it’s not hard to see who’s boss around the place. “Isabella is my queen bee, a queen bee without the sting.”

Daniel Le Brun (above) is known as the "grandfather" of sparkling wine in New Zealand.
He came to Marlborough after getting frustrated with the strict regulations governing the production of champagne in France and has spent the past forty years making high-quality sparkling wine in the Wairau Valley.
Winemaking was an integral part of Daniel's life from an early age and his family have been growing grapes in the Champagne region for many generations.
"My future was written out I think before I was born! After school we were expected to help in the vines and in the winery. I had to go to a wine school after high school to lean the theories, but I had basically got all the practicalities in my head by the time I left that's for sure".
Daniel sold out of his Cellier Le Brun winery in the mid 1990's and due to a slip of the pen; he lost the right to use his name on other wines. As a result he started the No.1 Family Estate on Rapaura Road, and his méthode traditionelle sparkling wines have been winning awards ever since and are exported all over the world.
"The production we have here is much smaller than what we had when we were producing Daniel Le Brun. The vineyard is smaller, the business is easier to manage and we are now on our own."
