A report on the trial of Professor Lloyd Geering for heresy in November 1967.

Includes extracts from speeches made by Mr. R.J. Wardlaw and the Rev R.J. Blakie who brought charges against Geering, and a reply by Geering himself.

Doctrinal error and apparent doctrinal error were among the charges. This trial split opinion within the Presbyterian Church between fundamentalists and those favouring a more liberal theology.

Geering was acquitted but soon left his Chair at the Theological College for a teaching position at Victoria University.
