Voices Around Me - reminiscences of broadcaster Bob Moore, a former producer and broadcaster on 3ZB Christchurch between 1958 and 1976.

Includes archival recordings of 3ZB staff, including audio of the station’s opening. The programme was produced by Theo Boekel, using many recordings from the Sound Archives.

Bob pays tribute to pioneering 3ZB announcer Teddy Grundy who was one of the station's first announcers and a mentor to him when he first joined the station. [An excerpt from a recording marking the station's 25th birthday.]

Grace Green was in charge of the programme department when Bob joined the station and enjoyed a long career at 3ZB. An archival recording of her recalling the fire which gutted the station in 1938 and how her 'magic bell' used in the nightly children's programme was rescued. The station continued broadcasting from its transmitter site in New Brighton, with loaned records and support from the New Brighton community.

An interview with Grace Green and Sharon Crosbie from the 1970s is heard.
Murray Forgie and Happi (Peter) Hill are heard and Bob recalls working with them. Murray Forgie and John Blumsky share some memories.

A 1963 radio commentary by Wally Chamberlain of H.M. Queen Elizabeth and Duke of Edinburgh arriving at Lancaster Park.

Julie Cunningham recalls gardening correspondent David Combridge.Bob recalls another female anouncers he worked with, including Eileen Cook, who is heard voicing a commercial from the Industries Fair in 1969.

The theme to Cyril Cook's Movie Magazine programme is heard, and an excerpt from his interview with Larry Adler. George Taylor is heard reviewing the film "Oliver!" in 1969.
Ian Vernazoni and John Maybury are heard, as well as his father Jack Maybury, host of many popular quiz shows. Alan Dunford was one of the young announcers who joined the station in the 1950s, and also produced musical stage shows in Christchurch. He is heard recalling one production and an excerpt is played.

Reon Murtha, best known nationally as a racing commenttor joined 3ZB from the West Coast. His spoof election commentary of the "1979 Challenge stakes" is heard.

A 3ZB Ranfurly Shield song from 1969 is played, "Ode to Hawkeye".
