Recording of the broadcast of the inaugural concert at the Christchurch Town Hall on Saturday 30th September 1972 . The Governor-General Sir Denis and Lady Blundell were in attendance.

Tape 4. Fantasia in C minor Op. 80 (Beethoven) Sung by the Christchurch Harmonic Society with the Christchurch Civic Orchestra. Maurice Till soloist - piano. The announcer gives a history of previous performances by the Harmonic Society.

Tape 5. Fanfare and God Save the Queen (two verses.)
