National Radio (N.Z.) (estab. 1986, closed 2007)

National Radio, Thursday June 26, 2003, 9am - 10am.
Recording begins during the trailer following the 9am news bulletin, then the programme rundown & a music track.

Linda Clark conducts three interviews:
1. New laws decriminalising prostitution were passed in Parliament by a margin of one vote last night (25 Jun 2003.)
Linda Clark interviews Auckland sex worker, Jenny, who has been in the business both here and in Australia for more than 20 years. She came to Parliament to see the Bill become law.
She talks about how the new legislation will affect her, the hypocrisy surrounding the previous arrangement which allowed "massage parlours" which were actually brothels. Jenny talks about how she got into the industry, her clients who are often elderly or disabled. She says she does not feel degraded by her work.

2. Seabed and foreshore debate: Interview with associate Māori Affairs Minister Tariana Turia. Tau Ihu Iwi, consisting of eight tribes from the top of the South Island, won a Court of Appeal case on June 20 to forward their claim to the Māori Land Court for the seabed and foreshore of the Marlborough Sounds.
In response, the government promised legislation to ensure the continuation of public access to the foreshore and seabed.

3. The Chief Executive of the dairying giant Fonterra, Craig Norgate, is quitting, to be replaced by a Canadian sugar industry executive Andrew Ferrier. Interview with business commentator Rod Oram.
