V.J. Day Thanksgiving Ceremony [Auckland]

Part 1: An unidentified station 1YA announcer introduces a broadcast relay from the main ceremony of the Thanksgiving Service, from the apex of the Auckland Town Hall.
First is heard several minutes of ambient sound and a 21-gun salute. Mayor of Auckland J. A. C. Allum then reads the proclamation of peace. The hymn "The Old Hundred" is sung with brass band accompaniment. Reverend W. A. Milne leads prayers.

The hymn "Now Thank We All Our God" is sung is sung with brass band accompaniment. The national anthem [God Save the King] is sung [all three verses] with brass band accompaniment, followed by three cheers for 'the fighting men of the Allied forces who brought us victory!'
