Episode 8: Gus Buys a Bull. In this serial, a Taranaki farmer tells anecdotes of his experiences with a neighbouring farmer, Gus Tomlins.

In this episode, he talks about Gus' acquisition of a bull. They attend the stock sale together, and he gives Gus advice on which bull to buy. They later have a drink together to celebrate the purchase, where they discuss 'ringing' the bull.

The ringing of the bull occurred the next day with the help of a man named Ned Wilson - the incident is recounted.
