Ray Cody interviews Edmund Hillary and Earle Riddiford about the forthcoming British attempt on Mount Everest. They discuss the chances of the British attempt to be made the following year.
They talk about the condition of the eight Swiss climbers. One of the main factors for a British team not reaching greater heights was because of inefficient oxygen equipment.
A lot of time is being spent in London developing more efficient oxygen equipment for the next attempt. A discussion follows on the advantages of New Zealand's Southern Alps for mountaineers to train on.
The next attempt on Everest was scheduled for the following May and the assault team would depart in April.
