A story presented by Rae Lamb about a lack of maternity services in Southland and Queenstown.

[1] An item on Morning Report which discussed the lack of maternity services in Queenstown was broadcast on National Radio on Monday 13 January 2003. The item was introduced with a brief sound effect of a woman giving birth.
Complaint: Morning Report – audio of a woman giving birth - preceded item about maternity services – gratuitous, distressing and socially irresponsible
Findings: Principle 1 and Guideline 1a; Principle 5 and Guideline 5c & Principle 7 and Guideline 7d - not socially irresponsible - not gratuitous – no warning necessary – no uphold

04/137/172 "Paul Holmes 14.2.03 6.40am + 7.42am 6 mins"

Paul Holmes and Roger Kerr from Asia Pacific Risk Management trade derogatory 'jokes' and comments about France in relation to the French Government not supporting America's invasion of Iraq in 2003.Holmes and Kerr go on to discuss aspects of business news and the financial scene. Holmes later repeats his 'jokes' in an increasingly hyped manner, then adds new ones . The tape finishes at 7.46am.

the Morning Rumble" on "The Rock FM', hosted Nick and Rog" [NickTrott and Roger Farrely]
eg -A colleague wearing a teen cancer bandana is referred to as l "wearing that stupid bloody scarf thing again." His co-host calls him "a bastard", and says he finds the colleague looks "really hot" .." Ooh ooh '"he exclaims, stating he is "gonna rub myself "etc..

"The Morning Rumble" on "The Rock FM". Nick and Rog" [NickTrott and Roger Farrely] talk to "Fletcher" about donations to The Rock's fund to pay their BSA fines. Comments are made about the frequent complainer to the BSA - it is suggested she should extract her fingers from a part of her body and use them to change stations.
