Police on the hunt for the robbers who stole war medals in December arrived at TV 3 this afternoon with a search warrent following last night's Campbell Live interview with a man claiming to be one of the thieves. TV 3 agreed to hide the man's identity - a decision criticised by some as conspiring with criminals. Head of TV 3 news and current affairs Mark Jennings, says the meeting was amicable. PRE REC

An Auckland teacher has been found guilty of six indecent asaults on 3 teenage girls. Heremia Smith, the former head of Māori studies at Glenfield College, was cleared of a further 8 charges including one of sexual violation. Gill Bonnett is at the Auckland District Court. PKG

United States marshals says they've tracked down the house where a New Zealand fugitive has been living. Nai Xin Xue has been on the run since September after abandoning his daughter at a Melbourne railway station. The man accused of murdering a teenage tagger in South Auckland has been released on bail, despite death threats against him. 15 year-old Pihema Cameron was stabbed to death in a Manurewa Street last month. More than 320 thousand people have signed a petition calling for a referendum on the new child discipline law at this year's election.The amendment to section 59 of the Crimes Act became law last June, removing the defence of reasonable force for any adult accused of assaulting a child. Just five days after Kosovo declared its independence, Serbian anger has turned violent. Protestors smashed their way into the United States embassy the Serbian capital of Belgrade. Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is being accused of having an affair with a female lobbyist during his failed 2000 presidential campaign. He's denied the claim made by the New York Times. Our correspondent Olly Barratt reports from Washington. PKG

The Paraparaumu community has bid farewell to a local college student killed in a midair collision near the town's airport. 17 year Bevan Hookway was one of the three people killed when a Cesna aircraft and a helicopter collided on Sunday. The other two were 30-year-old rescue pilot David Fielding and 19 year old James Taylor. David's brother, Michael Fielding, spoke to the media this morning. CUT
