Four items featuring interviews about the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Air New Zealand DC 10 crash on Mt Erebus, and specifically the withholding of some relevant material by Air New Zealand.

1) Martin Hine is interviewed by RNZ reporter John Blumsky. He comments on confidential documents on the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Erebus disaster, held by the Social Credit Party. He says the documents came from a person with a 'social conscience'. Recorded 27 January, 1982.

2) Unedited telephone interview with Justice Peter Mahon about undisclosed material about the Mount Erebus disaster, not released by Air New Zealand to the Royal Commission of Inquiry, which he headed. He says the material is damaging to Air New Zealand. He does not know if this material was placed before the Court of Appeal, but it was not made available to the Royal Commission. He comments on whether he will resign and the Prime Minister's comments on that. Recorded 31 December, 1981.

3) Telephone interview with Justice Peter Mahon who comments on a document with significant information being excluded from the Royal Commission of Inquiry and replaced with an amended version by Air New Zealand. The document, named Page J2, which looked at instructions given to the aircrew of the DC10, was scrapped by an in-house airline committee, and replaced with an amended version, also numbered J2. Recorded 7 January, 1982.

4) Unedited telephone interview by reporter John Blumsky with Justice Peter Mahon who talks about meeting in London with Lloyds Insurance to clear them of any responsibility in the way that evidence had been presented by Air New Zealand to the Royal Commission of Inquiry into the Erebus disaster. Recorded 27 January, 1982.
