09.48-11.01 Trevor Hosking: Thrums/threads removed from Ngatoroirangi's cloak and cast into the lake. One he named Tuna, which floated on the lake's surface and died, and hence the reason for no eels in the lake; another thread was named Kura, which sank to the bottom and swam off as a Kura (freshwater crayfish). Another was named Inanga, which survived; another Kōkopu also survived (a small fish with no skin); Kakahi was another (freshwater mussel).
