Broadcasts from the opening of the Te Ōhākī wharenui at Roma Marae by His Excellency Sir Bernard Fergusson.

Continuation of the welcome speech by Eru Pou, chairman of the Tai Tokerau District Māori Council. He continues with his tribute to the late Sir Winston Churchill. He quotes many Māori legends relating to the carvings on the wharenui and the marae's connection to Waikato.
He jokes about the current space race to reach the Moon, and notes according to legend, a Māori woman, Rona, is already there.
