Waiwhetu Marae

Two Māori culture groups, Aroha Wainui and Upper Hutt's Mawai Hakona provide entertainment during a powhiri to members of an overseas manuhiri group (ECAFE?) possibly at Waiwhetu Marae.

Aroha Wainui performs the following songs: "Tenei matou", "E te Hokowhitu", "Tena tena tena koutou katoa", "Taku Patu".

Mawai Hakona performs "Matakitaki", "Papa te Whatitiri", "Uia mai koia", "Ko taku Pirangi" and part of the song about Maui bringing fire from the underworld. The legend is told by the MC who is possibly Jock McEwan.
