Leo Fowler continues his interviews with South Island Maori. He speaks with Bob Whaitiri who speaks about the bottom end of the South Island known as Murihiku, and the tribal affliations pertaining to that area.

- Stewart Island (Rakiura,) its original name was "Te Ponga o te waka o Maui", (the anchor stone of Maui's canoe). this was the anchor stone that held the canoe in position from where Maui according to legend, fished up the North Island hence the name "Te Ika o Maui".
