Wharemate, Matekino, Speaker/Kaikōrero
Fowler, Leo (b.1902, d.1976), Announcer

Matekino Wharemata speaks about some of the history of Te Kaha during pakeha times (in Te Reo Māori).

Throughout the area, Peti (Beth) Ranapia was well known for helping people in need - Māori in particular. She was also a school teacher, and a teacher of the Māori language. In 1954, Peti and her husband moved to Wellington, and other teachers followed on after her.

Matekino Wharemata speaks on teachers' achievements, land leases, mortgages, road works, and also mentions people who had been instrumental in progressing those aspects for and around Te Kaha.
