A series of recordings made by broadcaster Selwyn Muru on a visit to Mt. Eden Prison in 1971.

The recording opens with several unidentified men describing the differences between Māori and pakeha prisoners and prison officers.

In the laundry a man explains his work. He says he is happy doing this work, despite the pay being 85 cents a week. He also does the dishes every night.
