- Nga Puna Drama -

A new four part series Drama Production named "Nga Puna Māori Drama" is
set to screen over the next four Sunday nights beginning tomorrow 19th Feb
1995.
Don Selwyn is to Māori Theatre, Māori Drama, Māori Film and Television training
and Tv portrals what Para Matchitt and Fred Graham are to Contemporary Māori
Art, or what Ngapo Wehi is to Māori Performing Arts or what Hone Tuwhare is to
Poetry, or Witi Ihimaera is to the written word, they been in their respective fields
for over a generation. Don for over thirty years, and they were respected, admired
and envied. They are among the poutokomana, the ridge poles of their artistic
fields and deciplines.
Two years ago Don Selwyn chose four stories from Māori writers, that make up the
Nga Puna Māori series which encaptulates two broad thrusts or elements.

- kaikōrero: Don Selwyn explains to Hēnare te Ua both thrusts in terms of Māori
drama. He also talks about theatre work.
