Jeremy Thompson of ITN reports on the confusion in Beijing with the latest troop movements in the Chinese government's crackdown on pro-democracy protests. The Chinese authorities have spoken of the large numbers of civilian deaths in the army attack on Tiananmen Square.

Senior government officials say nearly 300 people have been killed and most of them soldiers, but observers are still maintaining that thousands of civilians were killed in the massacre. Tim Leward reports.
