Wikiriwhi, Mamae, Speaker/Kaikōrero
Murupaenga, Herewini, 1937- (b.1937), Interviewer

Mamae Wikiriwhi, was a student at Auckland Girls Grammar School. She
excelled academically and moved on to become the first Māori student to
attend the United World College of the Atlantic housed in an ancient castle in Wales.

This College is opened to outstanding students from all over the world.
During Mamae's time there she lived and mingled with students from over
forty different nations.

Mamae talks with Selwyn Muru, firstly about her reactions when she first
arrived at St.Donat's Castle, part of the history of St. Donat's, the curriculum, ethnic groups, and different aspects of her Maoritanga.

Mamae also talks about an "International Baccalaureate" that she gained whilst there, which is a diploma controlled by Geneva, involving three subjects at a high level, and an entry to any University through out the world.
