1983 Te puna wai kōrero series

Many kaumatua from throughout the country gathered in Wellington to attend
the........."Te Hui Wananga na nga kaumatua". They gathered at parliament
Buildings where they were welcomed by the Prime Minister the Honourable
Robert Muldoon.

- Replying on behalf of the kaumatua was Sir James Hēnare.

Kia Ngawairi cultural group from Nelso perform their action song recored at the
1983 Polynesian Festival this waiata was composed by Sonny Keepa and music
by Tony McCarthy.
