Rekohu, (Wharekauri) or the Chatham Islands

Led by the Minister of Māori Affairs the Honourable Pene Riwai (Ben) Couch, a high-level government delegation recently visited Wharekauri.
The Honourable Ben Couch explains the purpose of the visit to Hēnare te Ua.

Other people included in the delegation were John Rangihau, Monita Delamere, Koro Wetere and elders from Taranaki. Some of the discussions centred on land development, kohanga reo and Te Kooti (Ringatu faith).

Ngāti Poneke sings "Poi Wairoa" at the recent opening of the "Sir Michael Fowler Centre" in Wellington.
