Turangawaewae Marae / Ngaruawahia was the venue for the MASPAC hui
for some two hundred Māori performing arts tutors from all over New
Zealand attending.

The aim of the hui was to bring together the tutors who would benefit from the
expertise of panels of tohunga or experts in the field of waiata, haka, poi and
waiata-a-ringa.

Each panel under the convenorship of a person with superb cultural
credentials.

- Kaikōrero: Archdeacon Kingi Ihaka explains the kaupapa.

Hikoi to Waitangi group arrived at Turangawaewae, followed by a karakia
led by Canon Wi Huata.
