Opening of Te Māori Exhibition of Art at the National Museum Wellington.
Kaikōrero : Hēnare te Ua speaks about Te Māori at the opening of Te Māori at the National Museum.
Other speakers include Douglas Newton, Head of the Metropolitan Primitive Art Section who began the selection of pieces that made up Te Māori. Hēnare
spoke to him before the actual opening took place in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on the 10th September 1984.
Other speakers, Mr. Richardson Dilworth, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Kara Puketapu, former Secretary of the Māori Affairs, Mr. Donald Cox, President of the Board of the American Federation of Arts, Sir James Hēnare, and Mr. Koro Wetere.
