0616 NEWS STORY: BABY/ETHICS - National Women's Hospital goes to High Court today for right to take 8 week old baby off life support. Baby has been in intensive care since being born several weeks premature and doctors believe she will not survive any treatment but her parents hope she will recover and don't want life support removed. Otago Med School Bioethics professor Donald Evans says there's an impasse and courts will have to decide what is best for the baby. (Mng Rpt)
0620 RURAL NEWS RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ACT - report released today by ministerial group, probably heralds changes to Act. Chair Mike Holm says report focusses on practical measures but there's a general conclusion that local councils need to be more accountable in how they apply the Act.
