In 1947, 20 year old Stan Jelley was posted to a sole charge school at Whakahoro in the in the heart of the King Country. This was Stan's first country teaching post and he found himself as much a pupil as a teacher in this isolated, tightly knit community. Stan Jelley recalls his experiences in conversation with Jack Perkins.
