A policewoman, shining a torch on a breathalyzer, tells a driver, “As you can see, Mr Rylands, you have failed the breath screening test and I’m requiring you to accompany me forthwith to the police station - ”
“I’m due at a meeting,” he attempts to interrupt, “in ten minutes.”
Cut to him exciting the car into the city street, declaring, “I happen to be a lawyer, officer.”
“Good,” counters the officer, “then you’ll understand the procedure.”
Concluding onscreen text as the lawyer places his hand over his face: “NO EXCUSES” with the ‘New Zealand Police’ and ‘Land Transport Safety Authority’ logos.
