WAITAKERE RANGES - AUCKLAND’S WILD WEST

This is a Regional Parks film produced for Auckland Regional Council by Wild South Enterprises and Television New Zealand.
A pākehā man hosts and narrates this film about the Waitakere Ranges. The footage features a group of children on a field trip, and the following subjects: Auckland city, its geological features, rainfall and water cycles, rainforest ecosystem, kauri trees, bird life, geckos, frogs, snails, night walks, wētā, glow worms, Australian possums, regenerative planting of forests and sand dunes, wood carving, local iwi, the cave at Whatipu, the Orpheus maritime disaster, gannet nests, recreational activities.
