Frame Enlargement from ‘A Daughter Of Christchurch’ (ref. F23332). The frame shows Bill Cowcockie (Don Harvey) who is facing a man, who appears to be a police officer, with his hand on his shoulder. They are surrounded by people.

‘A Daughter Of Christchurch’ is a comedic film that is set in Ōtautahi Christchurch. The arrogant Freddy Fishface causes trouble trying to impress the new school teacher. His efforts are no match for the romantic Bill Cowcocky.

This is one of the surviving Community Comedy ‘Girl Of Our Town’ 2-reel comedies that was produced by Rudall Hayward between 1928 and 1929. It was shot with a stock-script (only the names and places changed) and only a few of the 23 he produced survived.
