From the drilling of the pile holes to the opening of the Waitaki bridge, this film follows the progress of the Waitaki bridge construction.

“Length 2970 ft. in thirty 99 ft. spans with 24 ft. clear roadway and precast kerbs and handrails on a cast-in-situ deck supported by 4 prestressed concrete “I” girders, post-tensioned by the Magnel-Blaton system. Piers and abutments are founded on two 5 ft. dia. Cylinders sunk by a benoto hammer grab.”
