Documentary on the use of penicillin, particularly its use in agriculture for controlling mastitis in cattle.

Contains sequences of operating theatres, hospital wards, ambulances, and a dispensary. The scientist at Wallaceville Animal Research station tests cattle for streptococcal mastitis. The use of penicillin is explained and demonstrated to groups of farmers at the Department of Agriculture, and Veterinary Clubs field days.
The Glaxo Laboratory and chemist shop is visited. Sequences of a vet on daily rounds treating pigs, cows, lambs and horses.
