WHALING IN THE SOUTH POLAR SEAS
Loading the player...
A factory ship, “Southern Queen” , processes a whale carcass in the Antarctic. Whale blubber is cut up and reduced to oil. Mechanised operations on board are designed to deal with massive parts of the whale like jaw bones. Seals and birds of the Antarctic are shown. Fresh water is collected from ice blocks. The fleet returns to South Georgia, then the oil is taken to a refining company in Norway.
