Actors, dancers, mural painters and others participants at the 1979 Christchurch Arts Festival.

“The Christchurch Arts Festival and the Department of Education present a document of artists working in Christchurch N.Z. during the summer of 1979 - 1980. A film by the Community Arts Film Co-op.” Actors, dancers, mural painters and others participants at the 1979 Christchurch Arts Festival. The co-op encouraged artists and performers to become involved in the production of the film and, where possible, design or direct their own sequences. A dialogue developed between the artists work and the techniques of film making. The film became a meeting place for artists to collaborate and experiment with varied creative media while documenting a particularly culturally rich summer.”
