The photographer, Leslie Hinge, was a well known stills photographer in Wellington and had worked for the Government Publicity Studios.

The Hinge family at 10 Berry St, St Albans, Christchurch. The family sit on a rug out in the garden. A man [Leslie Hinge, the photographer] sits bouncing his young daughter, Ruby (Lesley) Hinge, on his knee. She wears a wide rimmed frilled hat, white frilly dress, complete with white stockings and black shoes. Her young brother, Philip Hinge, joins them wearing a sailor suit. The children’s mother, [Blanche Ethel Hinge] (nee Mohr), is also present.
