THE GREAT HOLOCAUST FEB 3RD 1931 NAPIER IN RUINS
Loading the player...
A devastated Napier after the earthquake on February 3rd 1931. Electrical fires smoulder causing fog-like conditions. The city area is a pile of debris and rubble, with very few buildings left unscathed. Naval men search for the dead and a make shift hospital and surgery are set up. “Dr Moore's hospital resembles the Leaning Tower of Pisa”, but apart from that, the rest of the street looked untouched.
